Dedicated Trust Friend Bernard Pont has been raising funds for the charity through the novel idea of collecting 5p coins. He has faithfully collected the coins over the past few months and has had a tremendous response to the challenge.
The inspiration for his idea came from his love of music and his aim to host a musical concert in honour of Sally.
All the proceeds have gone towards the running of a muscial concert at St Bedes School on the 14th July. Read more about the event here
"After attending Sally’s funeral last year I felt that I would like to make a contribution to the charity. I have always enjoyed music and felt that if I could arrange a concert and make it an uplifting evening it would help a very worthwhile cause.
I thought that by suggesting to friends that by collecting 5p coins I could offset some of the expenses for the event. I am pleased to say that all the concert expenses have been met by kind friends and therefore all the 5p coins can go to Sally’s Children Trust. With 3 weeks still to go it has reached an amazing total of £425.00."
