Education is vital for every aspect of a nation and its people’s well-being. Education allows people to make use of the resources they already have, however scarce, as efficiently and productively as possible and it gives children the chance to escape from poverty not only by getting better jobs, but by making informed and sensible choices and decisions.
The Kenyan education system needs non-governmental assistance, from within and outside Kenya as the government lacks sufficient resources to provide an adequate basic educational infrastructure, especially in rural areas.
The Trustees of SCT have formulated 3 main objectives that provide a framework for achieving the mission of SCT, these are as follows:
1. To improve the physical state and supporting infrastructure of schools by funding construction and refurbishment projects;
2. To work closely with local communities throughout. SCT believe that projects must have full community support and involvement if they are to have an impact, be truly sustainable, and be maintained by the local community in the longer term; and
3. To provide our donors with information regarding the status of our projects. We believe we are accountable to our donors and accordingly that our donors should be able to understand where and how their kind donations are being used.
